Novice / Learn To Row
A program focusing on the beginner rower or those returning after a long break from rowing.
This program stresses rowing safety and rowing fundamentals such as introductions to rowing
shells, stroke technique and conditioning.

Open
A rowing program offering flexible participation sessions. The program focuses on refining of rowing technique as well as some strength and conditioning work. Open rowers are encouraged to participate in regional regattas but competition is not required.
Competitive
A program designed for the more experienced rower with a focus towards advanced competition. This program requires flexibility in scheduling and commitments to set practice times.
Winter Training
OVRC's Winter Training practices are a chance to use the rowing machine, as a fitness and training tool for rowing. Over the course of the winter workouts will increase in duration and intensity; they are intended to be demanding, and periodic progress testing will be held. Some sessions may be supervised by OVRC coaches. They will instruct in proper technique, explain and lead workouts, and otherwise motivate you to improve.
